Policies and Protocols

Tovah's Tutoring Company Ltd ® feels it is important that learners and staff members are kept safe at all times.

This is why there are carefully conducted policies and protocols put in place.

Online Tuition

Terms and Conditions

Communication:
It is encouraged that all online tutors interact with parents as a first point of contact via email, phone and any social media platforms. Online tutors will not seek communication with students through student contact details unless parents have encouraged this.

Parent/caregiver, student and tutor interactions must stick strictly to professional standards. This is to ensure the safety of all parties. It is important to discuss only matters to do with the student's education and tuition scheduling, when communicating outside of online tutorial sessions. 

Resources:

All online tuition resources are to be available for student use during the tutorials. It is a breach of Copyright to distribute material to others without the consent of Tovah's Tutoring Company Ltd.

Mature themes:

All online tuition resources are at the NZ Curriculum content level. Any material or mature themes that may be of concern to the online tutor will be either discussed with the student prior to their online tuition time or presented to the parent/caregiver prior to use. 

Payment and refunds:

Payment must occur before the online tutorial has commenced.

An administration and planning fee of $20 will occur with any refund request.

No online tuition refunds will be given between October and December as this is a busy season for NCEA exam preparation and limited spaces apply. 

Any late cancellations upon the day of the tutorial will incur a $20 late cancellation fee. When informing us of late cancellations, make sure you phone, text or email the manager. Tutors have the right to cancel and/or discontinue any further tuition with anyone based on late cancellations, payment complications, and/or behavioural issues.

Safety:

It is at the discretion of the student and online tutor/staff member to determine if they would like to use their video camera during an online tutorial. If any occupants feel uncomfortable or unsafe online it is encouraged to address this with the manager.
All online tutorials can be attended with parental guidance. 

All online tutors are advised that online tutorials will occur only in public areas of the online tutor's house, if an office is not available. Public area is defined as a place where others can occupy such as a dining room or lounge. 

If a student or caregiver shows signs of or presents us with information which impinges on the safety of the student and/or their environment, it is at our discretion to inform appropriate authorities. 

Live recording:

If live recording or photographic evidence needs to take place, all participants of the online tutorial will be informed at the beginning of the online tutorial. The use of live recording and photographic evidence can be used to (but limited to) demonstrate online teaching practice for registration, promotional material, and/or educational notes.

Official Online Tutor Employment Policies and Protocol documentation and Health and Safety policies are available upon request.

Region, city and town specific tutors:

When identifying online tutors specific to a region, town or city, on a variety of webpages within this website, they may or may not operate from this specific region, city or town. Identifying them in this way means that they are able to support the needs of students living in this region, city and/or town. For example, but not limited to, Auckland tutors, Morrinsville tutor. All online tutors tutor students online at all times and are available for any high school student within New Zealand.

After School Clubs & Workshops

Terms and Conditions

Developing CV and Cover Letters for clientele is a 100% online process.

Venue:

All students must stay on the premises at all times throughout the duration of the programme. 

Should a student leave without permission, the instructor is unable to leave the venue and leave the rest of the students unattended. Please see 'Learning and Behaviour' section.

Parents/caregivers and/or the emergency services will be informed if a student leaves the venue with permission. Tovah and Tovah's Tutoring Company Ltd will not be liable for any repercussions occurred to the student who leaves.

Late pick up:
All children must be picked up at the end of each programme. Any late pick-ups will result in a quarter-hour fee e.g. If it finishes at 4pm, you will be charged $20 every 15mins to cover supervision and venue costs.

Road:

All students are encouraged to keep away from the road. They cannot cross the road and exit the premise without the permission of the parent/caregiver. When crossing to leave the premise at the end of the programme, all students must abide by NZ Road Safety rules. E.g. look before you cross the street, do not run in front of incoming traffic etc.


Stage & Stairways:

The stage has two stairway access points and is a raised platform off the floor. Students must abide by the Te Awamutu Little Theatre rules, where:
- they must not jump off the stage or the stairways at any point 
- they must not perform acrobatic movement on the stage or the stairways at any point

- they must have an awareness of proximity (the edge of the stage) at all times 

- damaging the stage floor and/or stairway in any way may result in repair or replacement costs at the discretion of the Te Awamutu Little Theatre Committee.

 

Tovah and Tovah's Tutoring Company Ltd will not be liable for injuries that occur.

Sickness:

As this programme includes other school children, it is encouraged that students who are unwell and/or have COVID should refrain from attending. Sickness absences will be credited to your account to be used for future lessons, if you provide notice the night before the lesson commences. 

 

Wellbeing:
As this is a paid programme that promotes fun, safe, inclusive and educational practices, it is important that students follow instructions and work together. 

 

If your child should physically assault another student, you will be advised to collect and remove your child from the venue. 

 

If any bullying concerns should occur, parents of all parties involved will be notified.

 

If any students should voice confidentially that they are in danger or have experienced trauma, parents may be informed, as well as the appropriate emergency services, and/or their school.

 

Learning and behaviour:

It is important that all parents inform me prior to the course of any learning and behavioural needs.

Participation will be at the discretion of the instructor after an informal assessment is conducted to ensure they can participate in a meaningful way.

 

Clean & Tidy:

To respect the hired venue, no food or drink can be consumed within the venue. This will avoid spillage and unwanted creatures.

 

No smoking, vaping, alcohol or illegal activity is allowed on the premises. This includes immediately outside the building. 

 

Lost Property:
Any lost property will be moved into the main foyer for collection during programme hours. Tovah and Tovah's Tutoring Company Ltd will not be responsible for looking after or replacing any belongings should they be damaged or stolen.

 

Equipment:
The Te Awamutu Little Theatre is a venue equipped with technologies within the lighting box, green room and on the stage. The technologies include costumes, props, stage set, music and lighting.
It is important not to touch this equipment at all times, unless permission has been granted by the Te Awamutu Little Theatre president (Glenda Barclay). If anything has been touched or broken, you will be charged a replacement or repair fee, carried out by the Te Awamutu Little Theatre committee.

 

Out of bounds areas:

The Te Awamutu Little Theatre comprises of a stage, audience seating, green room, stage wings, costume attic, lighting box, kitchenette, foyer and toilets.

Students can only use the stage, audience seating area and toilets during the programme. The foyer, stage wings and green room may be used upon request. All other areas are out of bounds. Students are not allowed to climb the ladder leading to the lighting box (unless given direct permission from the Te Awamutu Little Theatre resident, Glenda Barclay).

Refunds and Credits:

Refunds will occur upon special circumstances at the discretion of Tovah's Tutoring Company Ltd. E.g. Medical reasons. 

If your child is absent from a class due to sickness and you have provided notice at least the night before the scheduled class, your account will be credited. No refunds or credits will be made from not attending a lesson. This is only valid for group classes. This condition does not apply for one-on-one tutorials.

Attending any workshop or tutorials with Tovah's Tutoring Company Ltd means automatic agreement to these rules.

Jobseeker Tutorials and mentoring for CV and Cover Letter Development

Terms and Conditions

Communication:

With regards to any Jobseeker support tutorials, it is encouraged that all online tutors and in person tutors interact with the school and/or parents as a first point of contact via email, phone and any social media platforms. Online tutors and in person tutors will not seek communication with clientele if under 18 years old through their student contact details unless the school or parents have encouraged this.

CV and Cover Letter Resources:

All resources are to be available for students use during the online tutorials and in person tutorials. It is a breach of Copyright to distribute material to others without the consent of Tovah's Tutoring Company Ltd. This is only applicable if a Jobseeker tutorial occurs.

Printing and administrative costs may apply.

Travel, Payment and refunds:

Payment must occur before the product is developed and/or distributed to the client.

An administration and labour fee of $20 will occur with any refund request, if the product has been in the process of development. Further costs will apply if bulk printing has occurred.

On the event that a Jobseeker tutorial occurs outside of Te Awamutu, refunds for flight fares, accommodation and transportation will be dependent on each company's policies.

Safety and Confidentiality:

All Jobseeker tutorials must be in a public area. If any occupants feel uncomfortable or unsafe during the tutorial it is encouraged to address this with the manager. For Health and Safety reasons, all staff members are encouraged not to be alone with a learner under the age of 18 years. Public area is defined as a place where others can occupy such as a dining room or lounge.
All confidential information will be kept on file for GST and Tax purposes. It will be deleted when applicable to do so. No confidential information will be passed on to anyone else unless advised in a written email by the person whose confidential information this pertains to requests it. This may include, but not limited to, distributing drafts and final products to another email address, developing a CV and/or Cover Letter on behalf of someone else.

Live recording:

If live recording or photographic evidence needs to take place, all participants involved in this process will be informed before it takes place. The use of live recording and photographic evidence can be used to (but limited to) demonstrate teaching practice for registration, promotional material, and/or educational notes.

Paying for full or part of this service with Tovah's Tutoring Company Ltd means automatic agreement to these rules.

Online CV and Cover Letters development and Jobseeker tutorials 

Terms and Conditions

Developing CV and Cover Letters for clientele is a 100% online process.

 

Payments and Refunds:

Payment must occur before the product is developed and/or distributed to the client.

An administration and labour fee of $20 will occur with any refund request, if the product has been in the process of development.

As the drafting process is the way in which clients can communicate their satisfaction or lack of satisfaction of a product and have any issues remedied during this process, no refunds will occur once the drafting process has been made. It is the developer's objective to provide quality service and will communicate with the client to do so. Effective communication is actively listening to the client's suggested edits and endeavouring to accommodate this into the draft product. This is done via text, phone call or email. If there is a dispute or a customer is not satisfied with any edits after 5 drafting processes, then the developer has a right to seek advice from another professional outside of the company, in good faith, to remedy the situation.

 

Safety and Confidentiality:

All confidential information will be kept on file for GST and Tax purposes. It will be deleted when applicable to do so. No confidential information will be passed on to anyone else unless advised in a written email by the person whose confidential information this pertains to requests it. This may include, but not limited to, distributing drafts and final products to another email address, developing a CV and/or Cover Letter on behalf of someone else.

Design and Development:

Standard CV:

All Standard CV purchases come with three edits. Any additional edits needed may be charged by the hour. Standard CV items are structured in a basic format and may include professional colloquialisms suitable for certain professions.

Draft and final copies are development in PDF formats. Further charges may apply for original copies in Word Document format.

Freedom of design is limited to the change of font and title names. All Standard CV design and layout options are strictly as seen in the examples provided on our 'CV and Cover Letter' webpage.

Deluxe CV:

All Deluxe CV purchases come with three edits. Any further edits needed may be charged by the hour. 

Freedom of design is limited to the change of title names, as well as, font and background colour. All design and layout options are strictly as seen in the examples provided on our 'CV and Cover Letter' webpage.

There is no original copy to purchase. All Deluxe CV's are only available in PDF, Png and Jpeg formats.

Paying for full or part of this service with Tovah's Tutoring Company Ltd means automatic agreement to these rules.

Professional Writing

Terms and Conditions

Developing Professional Writing Documentation is a 100% online process.

 

Payments and Refunds:

Payment must occur before the product is developed and/or distributed to the client.

I will not contribute or include images, videos or multimedia within the professional piece of writing, due to copyright laws, unless proof of permission is provided. Once the piece of writing is transferred it is at your own discretion whether you include your own images, videos or multimedia. Tovah’s Tutoring Company Ltd encourages that you follow Copyright Laws accordingly and receive permission to include material that may require permission of the individual(s) or parental consent.

Design and Development:
